6th Week in Copenhagen

One day this week, I went for a jog to see "the Lakes." Looking at the map, Todd and I thought they were canals, which is apparently a common assumption since they're perfectly rectangular. I briefly ran on the paths along the banks (if you can call it running, I stopped for too many photos), then crossed the bridge and went to Nørreport Station to take the train since I wasn't up for another 3 km home. My routes in Raleigh are pitiful in comparison!

Since we live on the top floor of our building, we get great rooftop views. This week, we had a full double rainbow over the Øresund (we could see the other end out our bedroom window). Niether of us has ever seen such a bright rainbow or seen the sky be a different shade of blue on either side of the stripe.

There's no photoshop involved with this sunrise, either.

Friday night, we had dinner at a place called Bopa not far from our apartment in Østerbro. I love eating outside in the beautiful weather. I do not love paying for dinner here-- the tab was like $60 and we were still starving afterward.

During dinner, I got the official call that I'd been offered a job. The job I already have. I've been doing this job for the past year, trying to prove its worth our while. And I proved it, so my department created an new position for me. That I still had to interview for (ugh). The process has been drawn out and stressful, but the end result is that I (officially) have a job I love, for a school I love, that allows me to work from home most of the time. It's really perfect, I am so fortunate!

After dinner, we went to Nyhavn for a "celebratory" gelato. Just prepping our systems for Italy next week!

Doesn't this look like a toy? It's not. Real boat, real buildings. Nyhavn just does not get old.

We explored a new park on Saturday-- Valbyparken in south Copenhagen. It has a frisbee golf course (which we'd like to try if we can figure out where to buy a frisbee) and beautiful pathways that lead all the way to the water.

We missed the rose festival by a few weeks, but the dahlia gardens were stunning!
