humpback rock

way back on the last day of july, todd and i headed to the mountains to explore a little. we wanted to drive the blue ridge parkway, which is apparently always ranked as one of the most beautiful scenic drives in the country. there is a reason for that-- it's beautiful! pretty much everywhere in virginia is beautiful, but the parkway is extra beautiful. i can't wait to drive it in the fall.

we thought we'd go for a nice little hike to humpback rock, something like 2 or 3 miles round trip. i almost didn't even wear tennis shoes, thinking it would be more like a nature walk. um, no. it took us like 40 minutes of solid incline to reach the top. we were sweating like MAD (thank you, humidity) and had to stop every few minutes to catch our breath (note to self: more cardio).

but it was fun, and the view was so worth it.

no amount of laziness will ever make me do my hair this way again.

I tell myself that all the time about my hair, yet I still am lazy and don't do it. And you can come walking with Bryson and I in the mornings. At least until you get a job.

You would still look good wearing a garbage sack. And that place looks amazing! How fun. I'm glad you're liking Virg. so far
