todd turned 27 on saturday. i was scheduled to work on his birthday, and my big plan was to wake up that morning and surprise him by not going to work. but he started making all kinds of plans, so i had to tell him early. i didn't have much planned, but that was on purpose. i wanted todd to choose everything he did that day, without any intervention by his extremely opinionated wife.
we ate brazilian churrasco on friday night. i was so stuffed i probably could have gone all of the next day without eating. for birthday breakfast, i made some reese's pancakes before todd went to help a family in our ward move into a new house. we went to p.f. chang's for lunch, then bought todd some stuff at the mall.
and even after all that food we ate, todd still had room for his favorite "bts" cake. (which really needs a new, less offensive name.) he ate that while we watched "the last of the mohicans." you know it was totally todd's day if that movie was on! i have refused to watch it for a long time. and i didn't like it, but at least i stayed awake for most of it.
todd chose to end his day by inviting some friends from our ward to the arcade. did you know we went to nickelcade on our first date? well, the place we went is a serious upgrade. much, much nicer. we played all of todd's favorites (racing and shooting games) and my favorites (air hockey and dance dance revolution). and i won the free throw challenge game, which i don't think todd has ever beat me at. i think my short-range bball skillz amuse him.
todd's 27th year was a great one... i hope the next is even better!
