minutiae

i swear we do stuff. i also swear it's not interesting to anyone but us, so i rarely write about it. but i love looking back at my old journals and stepping back into my life as it was then. so here's what we've been up to:

tonight (after blogging and watching the latest episode of glee) i'm organizing our dvds into the snazzy orange boxes i got at ikea, and todd is studying for the gmat. it's a good thing i'm not the one going to grad school. the thought of that much studying exhausts me. he's going to take his first shot at the test later this month, then maybe we'll think about applying to some schools. we'll see.

we bought our first dining table! and it only took me 2 hours mulling decisions in the store before i made the purchase! (see why it took me 4 years to marry todd? 2 hours for a table?) so now we have a happy little table for our happy little home. or we will, as soon as my handy husband finishes putting it together.

and did you know i've been searching the earth for a suitable duvet cover for the past year almost? nothing is right. everything i like is expensive or way girly or looks very different online. yes, i have become one of those people i wanted to punch this time last year. everything is so nice and peachy in my life, i have time to worry about things like duvet covers. help me.

we are loving the fall. we woke up one day, and it was cold-- literally, overnight. the leaves are beautiful here, though we are both harboring some serious jealousy for everyone who gets to see the wasatch mountains in their beautiful fall glory. but before you know it, we'll be in UTAH! for thanksgiving. (i think UTAH! should always be declared with spunk. you know me, spunky.) i'm very excited about this, though i worry i won't get on the plane to come back. i have a habit of doing that, you know. :)

and maybe i looked at christmas decorations at the store today. i don't know, maybe. i'm trying really hard to contain my excitement at having a banister on which to wrap garland.

well, off to alphabetize dvds!

Yes I just discovered her blog like a week ago and I am obsessed. I love it. I've read the whole thing.

I want to see a picture of your dining table. I think you should post pictures of the whole apartment. give us an open house!

I second the whole "open house" picture thing! And by the way you are totally coming to UTAH (note the spunk) in like a month!!! When are we all getting together?? (and there is no "if" involved here...)
So excited!
