we had another utah friend visit us in may-- rosey!!
rose and i did a neat architecture tour downtown and (of course!) walked and shopped on the magnificent mile. we got about 20 feet into saks fifth avenue before turning around and leaving. i have never felt so under-dressed in my life! but have no fear, we found things to buy... just not in saks!
we ate sandwiches in the middle of grant park, which is where president obama gave his acceptance speech last november. i can't believe a million people were packed in this little place. pretty cool! when we left the park, we passed a big group of people on a segway tour. i want to take one of those so bad. i laugh every time i see them.
that night we saw a seriously potty-mouthed show, "jersey boys." i hate to rationalize, but it was really good. they could have done without the cursing, but i suppose that's what makes it real. but yeah, they swore like every other word.
on sunday after church, we took a picnic to a nearby park and played some frisbee.
on monday, rose was a doll and took care of some things i'd been meaning to do but just couldn't handle because my head was about to burst with wedding planning--we'd been engaged for like a week and were getting married in 4 weeks. seriously, rose was like the angel houseguest (i am so lucky. i have the best friends). we went out for deep-dish pizza the night before she left, and i think it was a hit!
