in mid-may, we got to spend a weekend with our friend josh. he had a layover in chicago, so we took him for deep-dish pizza and spent a day at the ballpark watching the cubs beat the astros (from our great seats in the third row). none of us had ever been to wrigley field before.
as much as i love sports, baseball does get boring for me--too many innings. so i amused myself watching the scoreboard in the outfield (people still switch the wooden signs by hand-- purists, the cubs) and pointing out all the low-flying airplanes approaching o'hare airport. and i totally sang "take me out to the ballgame" all by myself, because todd and josh spent the seventh inning stretch buying food. well, josh bought it and we ate it. visitors who buy us food are the best.
anyway, did you know the cubs have their own song? i didn't. go cubs, go-o! go cubs, go-o! hey, chicago, what do you say? the cubs are gonna win today!
afterward, we walked the path along lake michigan. i think josh and todd were cut from the same cloth. they saw something to explore (rocks! water! danger!) and went for it.

Oh how fun!!!! A whole post about Josh's visit. I wish I could have come for that.
Wow I feel so special!!! I saved all the pics (still on my phone) but never got around to the blog post. That layover is the best one I have ever had. Thanks so much for the game and also to Todd for sharing his EXTENSIVE church history knowledge with me. Seriously I thought it was so interesting. You guys rock.
