i've heard horror stories about summers in chicago. but luckily, this summer the humidity has been tolerable and the temperature has been lovely-- there has actually been quite a bit of rain. the notable exceptions to this nice weather were our wedding weekend (boiling) and this past weekend (almost boiling). apparently boiling is normal and we can expect more for the rest of the summer.



but we braved the heat this weekend and went downtown to the chicago bears' pre-season "family day." (DAAAA BEARS, DA BEARS, DA BEARS) we had great seats, courtesy of my friend jenifer and her husband, and we got to see soldier field for the first time. the stadium is really cool-- the original stone exterior was preserved and added to instead of being torn down when the stadium was renovated a few years ago. i loved the collinade and all the windows.

and next weekend we'll be downtown again for the chicago air show!
