April

April kicked off with General Conference. The missionaries challenged us to watch conference with specific questions in mind, which we did.  I took a lot of notes and felt like my questions were addressed pretty heavily, but other people thought conference focused on completely different topics. Interesting how the Spirit works!

I know it's probably bad to have favorite apostles, but I do. Elder Holland rocked it. His talk didn't address any of the questions I had in mind, but he did say something that stuck with me more than any other speaker:

"Except in the case of His only perfect Begotten Son, imperfect people are all God has ever had to work with. That must be terribly frustrating to Him, but He deals with it. So should we."

Mom and Dad sent us Garrett's popcorn for conference and a Honeybaked ham for Easter. I made mom's Navy Bean Soup for the first time-- a week-after-Easter/Thanksgiving (ham holidays) tradition. I love food traditions at holidays (and obviously we have several), but I'm not at the point where I enjoy being the one who makes the food.

Since the weather warmed up, all I want to do is be outside. We love going for walks. Well, I love going for walks and Todd humors me quite often. Our go-to spot is along the Neuse River on the Raleigh Greenway. We usually spot some crazy creature, this time it was a whole flock of deer. (It's a flock... a flock, of MOOSEN! If you get that reference, you win.)

We broke out our golf clubs for the first time this year! We weren't as bad as expected, though I'm still not very good. I took lessons 2 years ago and I was waaaaaaaay better than all the Darden girls in my class, but I still don't think I'm good enough to merit a real round. I have yet to play an actual round... we tried once in Charlottesville on a horrible public course right after it had rained, it was pretty miserable. Maybe this year.
