Late November

How is it almost Thanksgiving? Who said it could be almost Thanksgiving?

We've lost a lot of sense of season, with all our travels and new things we've been doing. But it's officially Christmas season here, as Tivoli and the Christmas Markets are open! There hasn't been snow yet, but we have a bet: Todd thinks the first good snow will be December 15, I think it will be December 7. The fact that we bet it on it means I'll be wrong. ;)

We saw the second Hunger Games movie with the Kühlmanns. The theatre has just one screen, but the room is about as big as the JSB lecture hall at BYU. The next day, we all went antiquing in Espergaede. Like in the States, most of the "antiques" are from the 50s (or even the 80s). But some of this stuff was old-- this chest is from 1780. Not that old for Europe, probably, but nearly as old as our country! And Todd found a narwhal tusk lamp!

Afterward, we went to Kronbog Castle in Helsingør, where Hamlet is set. We learned about the Øresund ship tax system and why Danish castles are so bare compared to French or British castles-- the royalty constantly travelled around to deal with matters throughout the kingdom and took their whole household with them.

Every day when we pray together, we express our gratitude for the opportunity to be in Copenhagen. We still can't believe we live here and have been able to see so many amazing places, it's such a dream! We are constantly in awe of our many blessings.
