My good friend Rosey got married in Utah this weekend, and I got to go! I was so excited to go home. I resisted the urge to let my inner four-year-old give a tour of the Salt Lake Valley as we landed.
I stayed the first day and a half with Kirsten in Salt Lake for all the wedding activities. The first night, Kirsten, Kristen and I went to dinner at Tucanos. It was amazing and we ate ourselves sick. It was so fun to see them and their cute kids!
The wedding was beautiful. We started crying before Rosey and Duane even got to the sealing room and kept crying through the whole thing. Rosey looked gorgeous!
I spent the rest of the weekend in Provo with my family, which was wonderful. I like them a lot. The only bad thing about Utah is that it's so far from Virginia!
It was so nice to be in Utah for a season other than Winter. The weather was beautiful and mild and the trees were incredible. We took a walk (twice!) by the stream at the south side of BYU campus. This was one of my favorite places when I was there, but it was a total dump then. It's gorgeous now!
And, surprise surprise, me and airplanes still don't mix. My dad was very sweet and waited at the gate with me until I boarded the plane home (his flight to Seattle left a little later). My family is so nice to put up with my craziness.
I missed the peak of Virginia's fall color during my little trip, but you'd never guess it. Utah has more vibrant color, but less of it. Virginia has a little color everywhere. Imagine the view flying low over the mountains and Shenandoah as we landed in Charlottesville. I took this picture on my walk to work today, just a random street near where we live.
I loooooove fall!
