kirsten visits!

this weekend, one of my best friends kirsten came to chicago for a quick visit. we had so much fun.

we stayed up way too late on friday night, and she and i went down to the city on saturday morning. we peeked in the windows of the home shops on the first floor of the merchandise mart, shopped the magnificent mile, bumped into some other former timpview t-birds, and took an architecture tour on a boat down the chicago river.

we erroneously assumed that the weather would be nice and mild, it being the month of may and all. but we shivered for the whole boat tour, and rain started pouring right as we docked. we had to run at least half a mile through the city to get back to the car, and we got soaked. so we wimped out and drove around millennium park and lake shore drive instead of walking there.

then we drove to evanston to check out the mexican shop (why is this place on lists of cool places to shop in chicago?), to glenview to see the chicago temple, and back home to eat some lou malnati's deep dish pizza.

todd was so helpful, making sure the dishes were washed and the house stayed clean while i ran around having fun. we missed josh and cute little jett, who stayed home with the sniffles, but we were so happy kirsten could come!
