I've been a little bummed with our fall color situation. October in Charlottesville was amazing, but October in Raleigh yielded just a little yellow. The month ended with leaves covering the ground, so I figured that was it.
Then on Monday, we woke up to beautiful, blazing reds and oranges all around! Perfect weather and completely beautiful! I declared November 12 the Most Perfect Fall Day of 2012.
Then Tuesday was better-- even brighter colors and it was overcast (a bonus, in my book). I took a drive just minutes from our house on a street that's high enough to see for a few miles. The view was breathtaking-- possibly more beautiful than Virginia. November 13: The Most Perfect Fall Day of 2012.
I try (and fail miserably) to veil the fact that I haven't had the best time of things since moving to Raleigh. I'm not sitting around moping about it-- we're meeting people, exploring, and legitimately trying to make it home. And it's silly, but the fall color finally showing up made such a difference. I was simply looking for the good stuff in the wrong month.

Summer is great, spring is always fun after winter, and snow is always pretty... but really there is NOTHING better than the perfect fall day! Fall is probably one of the best seasons EVER!! Utah is now covered in snow so no more perfect days so enjoy them for me while you still have them!
