We gave the 36-hour Charlottesville Highlight Tour twice over graduation weekend.
This chalkboard wall is on the Downtown Mall. We took Cait for dumplings and sat outside in the perfect weather.
What's a trip to Charlottesville without Monticello? I can pretty well give the tour myself at this point, but I still love it.
You can spot the top of the UVa Rotunda through the trees by my face.
I think everything Cait does is cute/hilarious. (Don't get a big head about that, okay?)
We drove the Blue Ridge Parkway, which was its usual beautiful. Dad tried to use the self-timer and set the camera on the car, but ended up with pictures of the trunk.
A few days later, we did Shenandoah National Park with Jim and Cheri.
Every time we drive the Blue Ridge Parkway or Skyline Drive (which is often), Todd is on the lookout for a black bear. We've seen a couple of sheep/ram things and deer, but never a bear. This guy was in the ditch right by the road.

We showed Jim and Cheri my most favorite house-- Tiverton Farm. I call it "Our House"-- as if we will ever live somewhere as grand, but I like to aim high.
Todd always wants to drive up to it, but I always refuse. I'm not into trespassing. But Jim didn't see any signs against trespassing, so he drove us all the way up to the house.

We also took both families on a drive-past of Swannanoa--I'm in pieces over its disrepair. But Tiverton is being restored and I'm so glad! Todd peeked in a window and knew I would flip for the mural... and the screen, the table, the millwork, the wood floors... need I go on?
We also went to Monticello and Maymont (in Richmond). If we could have taken pictures, I'd show you the vintage Louis Vuitton steamer trunk I coveted. We had a great time with both families, come again!
