J.O.B.

We went for a nice, long walk on Wednesday evening. Walks or drives are the only sure ways to relieve stress for Todd and me, so we've done both quite a bit lately. I felt much better when we got home, ready to start an evening full of job applications... but we got a happy email that changed our plans:

TODD GOT A JOB OFFER!

If we take this offer, we'll be hanging our hats just outside of Dallas, Texas.
Todd was in the area for less than 24 hours when he interviewed, and I've never been. I know nothing about Dallas! The only praise I've ever heard for is how cheap it is to live there.

Is Dallas interesting?
Is Dallas beautiful?
What does one do in Dallas?
Will I live without the magnolia trees?
What route could possibly replace my Rotunda jog?
Are there pretty places to drive?
Will we get swept away by a tornado? Eaten by a snake?

I assume there's a reason Texans are so proud, and I'm out to find it.

Todd is letting his other interviews play out as planned before we make a decision by the end of April.
Other potentials are Georgia, upstate New York, North Carolina, and Virginia.
We'll know which soon!

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! I am so thrilled for you! I've never been to Dallas, but I have quite a few friends there and every one if them adores the place. You should talk to Emily Jones (Meyers). She and her husband live there and when I talked to her last, she said they'd be happy staying forever. Can't wait to see what you decide, and I can't believe you are almost done with the MBA experience! That means we are one year closer to being done as well :)

I can tell you a bit about Dallas from my 3 or 4 nights a year there. I like it quite a bit. The weather is nice and they are a proud people. Yes housing is cheap but property tax is high. It is not just a rumor, everyone has a gun. It will be hard to beat Virginia on a number of levels wherever you go but Dallas is cool. Congrats!

Texas baby!! You know they say everything is bigger and better in Texas!! All I know is I LOVED living in San Antonio even if it was scalding hot in the summer time... I can't imagine Dallas is that much different it'll be fantastic! You will for sure have to buy a gun (if you need any tips Duane is your man) cause no one will be able to take you seriously without one down there. ;) And while there really is no replacement for magnolia trees, rotunda jogs, and those beautiful Virginia drives I am positive you will make wherever you go your very own paradise!!! CONGRATS Todd on the job offer!
Love you guys!
