Rudest Human Award

We went to our new ward on Sunday. The entire three hours, it seemed, was full of lamenting the loss of the old ward. It was a little awkward (and boring), since we were the "new" people, but for the most part the ward members were very nice and we're happy to be there.

The Relief Society president plans to drop by randomly to visit each of the "new" sisters in their homes. I will probably never be home, and if I am, I will likely be too busy to sit down and chat without planning for it. And if I'm honest, our house will probably not be in a state for visitors.

On Sunday night, someone knocked on our door while I was in my PJs iChatting about trip logistics with my family. I could only assume it was the RS President, and nice as she seemed, I wasn't up for it. I asked Todd to see who it was, and said rather loudly "It's probably someone from church, don't answer it!"

The people at the door had turned around and left by the time Todd got to the door. All he could tell was that they were kids. They must have heard me.

The note on the cookies said "Welcome to the ward family! Love, the Cranes."

Oops.

That's hilarious! You totally made us giggle by sharing this story. It sounds like one of the scenes from the movie "Home Teachers". :)
